Eldon Golf Club and Head PGA Professional Mike Cummings hosted the inaugural “Carts Fore Vets” tournament on Saturday, August 28th. Carts Fore Vets kicks off a year-around program called PGA HOPE which uses golf as a mental, social, and physical rehabilitation tool for disabled veterans. Weekly clinics, free and open to all disabled and able-bodied veterans, begin Tuesday, September 22nd.

Carts Fore Vets, in conjunction with the Gateway PGA REACH Foundation and the Miller County VFW Post 2442, successfully raised enough funds to purchase the area’s first Solo Rider golf car – an adaptive golf car for all parts of the golf course. This success was due to the tremendous support from local business and 35 teams of golfers registered. Mr. Mike Cummings is now looking towards the start of the PGA HOPE Clinic Series where he hopes many local veterans will make Eldon Golf Course their home for golf. PGA HOPE, Helping Our Patriots Everywhere, is a key initiative of the Gateway PGA REACH Foundation and PGA REACH, the PGA of America’s Philanthropic Arm. Interested in learning more about PGA HOPE or the Gateway PGA REACH Foundation? Visit www.gatewaypgareach.org
