Giving Back to Gateway PGA  Professionals

Weekly golf instruction isn’t the only opportunity PGA HOPE provides to St. Louis veterans.  The chance to volunteer and give back to the PGA Professionals that do so much for them is something many PGA HOPE veterans are excited about.  Just in the month of June, veterans have lent their time and talents at 3 major Gateway PGA events: Drive, Chip and Qualifier at Pheasant Run Golf Club, the Web.com Qualifier at the Quarry at Crystal Springs, and the Ozzie Smith Pro Am at the Country Club of St. Albans.

“I love being around golf.  The job of being around the kids at Drive, Chip and Putt, and the beauty of being at a place like St. Albans, volunteering with the Gateway PGA has given me such great opportunities to meet people.” -Bill Weigand, PGA HOPE Veteran

PGA HOPE, “Helping Our Patriots Everywhere”, provides veterans the opportunity to learn the game of golf in a safe environment which is proven to help enhance their mental, social, physical, and emotional well-being.  In the Gateway region, 5 PGA HOPE Chapters serve over 200 veterans: St. Louis, Columbia, Jefferson City, Eldon, and Springfield, IL.
