This summer featured an active lineup of PGA HOPE programs and activities around the Gateway Region.  Veterans from St. Louis to Eldon and Springfield, IL participated in introduction to golf programs, leagues, and fundraising tournaments all to positively impact our nation’s heroes.

In  Springfield, IL the first 6-week introduction to golf clinic series wrapped up with a 9 hole scramble at Bergen Golf Course.  The prior 5 weeks offered instruction to 15 veterans at Lincoln Greens Golf Course and was led by Lance Flury, PGA Head Professional with the assistance of PGA Professionals Mike Logsdon, Paul Loutzenhiser, James Sutzer and LPGA Professional Linda Sherwood.

Eldon Golf Club’s Mike Cummings brought back the fruits of labor from the Annual Carts Fore Vets Tournament.  The event raises money to purchase SoloRider golf carts for disabled veterans to be able to play golf.  This is the second cart purchased in 3 years.  Congratulations to Michael Cummings and the Mid-Missouri PGA HOPE Chapter!
